SOLARCITY SIMULATOR, click on the link below: https://solarcity.irena.org/#en/locations The New Generation of Decision Makers IRENA Youth Forum @ the 13th IRENA Assembly The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) fourth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers will convene on 13 January 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the margins of the thirteenth session of the IRENA Assembly. The Assembly is the Agency’s ultimate decision-making authority where Heads of State/Government, Ministers and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the energy transition. The 2023 IRENA Youth Forum will strengthen youth networks and connect them with global thought leaders, government representatives, and IRENA experts. The Forum will create a space for young people to contribute to the Agency’s mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment to achieve climate objectives and advance the sustainable development agenda. Through a series of interactive sessions, including open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the global energy discourse. Global Participation The event strives for a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and highly encourages applications from youth in LDCs, SIDS and developing countries. Upon selection, full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, will be provided for up to 35 participants. Application Process Interested youth of a minimum age of 16 years can submit their application by completing an application form and providing the following documents: - Curriculum Vitae
- Brief essay on a topic of particular interest to youth pertaining to renewable energy and sustainable development; this could also include a project the applicants have worked on or are working on at the moment (1000/1200 words)
The deadline for individual applications is 29 October 2022 (at midnight, Abu Dhabi local time). A new vacancy for the position of Associate Professional, SIDS Lighthouses is now open for applications.
The purpose of the Associate Professional Programme is to enable junior talented and promising university graduates and postgraduates to gain first-had experience in the work of IRENA and a deeper insight into the role of the Agency in promoting the widespread and increased adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy. The programme offers valuable exposure to IRENA’s main activities and programmatic areas. The Agency will also benefit from gaining new and motivated members of staff, bringing new skills and perspectives. The incumbent will support the coordination and implementation of the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative, the Global Geothermal Alliance, decentralized renewable energy solutions addressing food, water security, and health, Alliance for Industry Carbonization, Clean Cooking Alliance, and other multi-stakeholder partnership initiatives in SIDS to achieve their commitments to the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals through energy transformation and climate action.
